A PRIZE FOR THE 2020 PRIZE DRAW - DO YOU KNOW WHAT IT IS YET??

It’s the usual thing - you come up with an idea (in this case, for a prize in the 2020 Association Prize Draw) and they all turn around to you and say (in effect) “It’s your idea - YOU do it!”

So, the first thing to do was to find an appropriate Really Useful Box to put it all in - this one isn’t the same size as the rest so it got purloined for the job.

The first thing to go in it were some lengths of soft iron floristry wire - very useful for hanging sub-assemblies up when you’re trying to spray paint them. By the way, always put a single-use plastic bag over your hand when you’re using rattle cans or an airbrush - saves you spraying your hand!

The next item was a small glass jar (the sort you get with afternoon teas or food on trains) containing 4 Roundhouse Lamp Brackets, some fixing pins (more than will be needed, because if you put the exactly correct number in, you WILL lose one) and a pair of second-hand Roundhouse cast white metal lamps. The budget wouldn’t run to working ones.

As I wanted the prize to be complete, I chucked in a packet of coupling chains................

The first bit of recognisable parts was this SDL Loco Detailing Kit - Nicky kindly donated this to the project.

Then, some of the kits arrived. You don’t expect me to show you what they are (yet) do you?

There were some boxes, too...........................

Oh well...................................

.

.

..

HOWEVER............... Once a box with more kits had arrived from Scotland, it was fairly obvious that THAT box wasn't going to be big enough!

..

I then received a totally unexpected (and very generous) donation from Wood Valley Works............

..

..

..

..

..... which nicely filled up a twice-as-big box!

I've got to finalise the Guidance Notes that will go in the box, but I've got the box label sorted.
