The railway has always been dominated by the "little trees" put in by the fencing contractor when he put the fence at the bottom of the garden..................... It did provide some shelter, but you got awfully wet when it HAD rained ....... ......... and the trees effectively dominated the whole garden..................... ................... and shaded the whole railway for most of the day. On Saturday May 3rd, what a difference!
The stumps couldn't be reduced much more than this.................. ............. as they'd grown through the fence, which was still in reasonable condition. Here Jed The Tree completes the final trimming of the stumps................. ......... which are at just the right height for operators to rest their bums on - now they've been treated, they don't show up anywhere as much as they did. Once the fence had been repaired, all the debris cleared, and gravel laid............ ................. the whole area looked much better! |
