Now that it's more-or-less finished, it's started to get out a bit. One rather unusual event was a 16mm "Guest Day" at the Derby Society of Model Engineers, where I was able to take a series of photos.

It was nice to get most of the stock out......................

................. and of course The Camel made an appearance..................

........... as did the windmill, for the first time. I wasn't too certain at this point where I actually wanted it, so we tried it in the middle to start with.............

The whole looked very presentable...................

........ however you looked at it.

The "straight from the front" view, which is what most people see.

I then decided to add a lot more Silly Signs.............

........... and took a few pictures under just the layout lighting.

The windmill has ended up at one end of the layout..............

...............with the (now soundless) welder at its base. I'd run him with sound at Telford, until I was quietly told it was getting on people's nerves.......... I can take a hint!

It now looks "well planted" and all I'm going to add are odd details (and knowing me, they'll be VERY odd!)

The layout went out to Telford in 2013, where it played host to one of the then new Roundhouse "Little John" Diesels, which ran perfectly!

In March 2017, I got the chance to acquire this rather nice Diesel tank-on-a-plinth, which already looked suitably grotty, but the brickwork got re-done............

............... and I tried it for size here. I was working under very poor light for this - can you spot the deliberate mistake??
